A “Rare” Nacional

Post by Julian D. A. Wiseman »

Andy Velebil has asked that I post this on :ftlop2014:, and I’m happy to oblige.
I particularly liked NN27 being described as “Rare”.

The handwriting is unclear: the sale price is £210.

As I said on TPF, Don't this throw a monkey wrench in things. In reality, it doesn't really surprise me. I've learned a long time ago, the Douro is a place where dates are always in flux, everyone was "the first" to do this or that, seemingly everyone bought/sold wine to/from everyone else at some point in history, and wines that never existed exist.
