TN: 1934 Faja Malvasia

Reputed to be from the legendary Faja dos Padres. I'm guessing from ABSL based on the style of stenciling on the bottle, and because I've seen empty pipes of this at the lodge. I've never heard of anyone else bottling such a wine.
Miserable 3 cm cork, but dried out and conical. Maybe only 5mm was creating an effective seal. If not for the wax capsule, the corkscrew would probably have pushed the cork into the bottle.
Decanted. Beautiful and brilliant amber, gold, green color.
Maybe some air had gotten into the bottle, because no evidence of bottle stink. Indeed, it has a beautiful aroma of limes and tangerines with some toffee underneath. Some VA as well.
Full weighted in the mouth but the flavors dance on the palate. Has gained some sweetness in the decanter. Good intensity. More citrus flavors on the palate. Finishes with a bit of caramel. Lots of acidity. A more citrus style rather than candied, the way I like my Malvasia.
Long, rich finish.
I like this quite a bit, maybe 94 points. The best Madeira I've had in some months.
