You can upload avatars, pics into posts, etc.
You can't upload into the main page photo database at present.

I have never been able to upload an avatar.

Andy, your saying it could be done made me look harder - oops! Not where I usually expected the option to be for attaching. Thanks!
Still not sure though where the upload is for the avatar. attach to a post and hotlink?
