For The Love Of Port

My husband and I are going to Portugal for a week, staying in Lisbon. One of my biggest priorities is to experience the wine culture. We're not very familiar with Port wine, and have no idea where to even start! What are your favorite excursions/places to visit? I see many options for wine tours, but am always weary, for fear that we're paying for the "tourist" aspect, and not really going to experience it best. Many thanks for any advice or tips!

Portugal is much more than Port!
Are you staying only in Lisbon, or traveling to other areas? Great table wines from various areas. Fortified wines include Madeira and Moscatel do Setubal. The Setubal peninsula is not too far from Lisbon and might be worth a trip.
