Fruity aromas with eucalyptus, and perhaps an off aroma too—vegetable, or …? Luckily this then disappeared. Then there were some herbs, orange gumdrop, and watermelon Jolly Rancher candy. In the mouth there is intense concentration, with lots of tannins, but not unpleasant. The tannins are soft. There is lots of tang, yes, and black currant. My favorite of the day so far (tasted after Tedo 2003 LBV, and 1997 and 1999 VPs), and the most approachable young VP of the Port Harvest Tour 1 so far. (This is on day 6.) Really strong finish. BEST YOUNG PORT. 94+ points, now; and with great potential.
