I have had two 1811 Madeira's. One was in 2011 during the celebration of the 200th anniversary of the Blandy firm's establishment. Actually that was a Solera bottling and I was given the bottle by Michael Blandy, who is Chris's uncle and was running the company at the time. That day, the Symingtons were on hand and announced they had sold the majority stake in MWC (Madeira Wine Company) back to the Blandy's family.
The more recent bottling was the one that Aaron and Eric and others here have all enjoyed together in that Burgundy bottle, at our annual Madeira tasting in NYC. It will be fun to learn more and thanks to Aaron for his report.
