In need of an editor / fact checker (No, G. Eiffel did not create the Dom Luis 1 bridge), this article presents an interesting view of Porto and is almost an infomercial for The Yeatman, with some less than complimentary remarks that raised my eyebrows. Nonetheless, it is worth perusing for its surround sound view of the city.

Technically, I think this is correct isn't it? The wording is poor, but not technically wrong.

"Modern Porto is still a very old city. It is architecturally spectacular, with six vertiginous bridges (two of them from 1877 and 1887 by Gustave Eiffel and his partner, Theophile Seyrig) spanning the elegantly winding Douro."

In 1877 Eiffel built the Maria Pia bridge (with Seyrig on his team), and in 1887 Seyrig designed the Dom Luis I bridge. So Eiffel and his partner did in fact build two of the bridges, but they didn't build both of them together as the sentence can be read to imply.

Well, if you are not used to that décor it is a bit, shall we say, interesting. And his comments on the entrance are spot on. It is the weirdest entrance for any high end hotel I've ever been to. Even some taxi's I've taken have had issues trying to get there. I feel for anyone driving there for the first time. And it's not an easy walk up hill if it's hot out and you are not in good shape or are older.
