I thought you might want to see this. It's a fourth episode of the third season of BBC 2's "Great Continental Railway Journeys" documentary series. Hosted by british ex-politician and current broadcaster and journalist Michael Portillo travelling on the railway networks of continental Europe- With a help from his 1913 copy of Bradshaw's Continental Railway Guide.

This episode is from 2014 and in the halfway of the episode he enters Portugal from Porto to Douro Valley, Coimbra and finally Lisbon. Having some 1953 Martinez Vintage Port on the way too. A great watch i think, you can check the episode out here: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2j4q88

Hmmm. The ad video played fine, and then I was told the video couldn't play in my browser, Chrome on my phone. I'll try later on a computer.

I hope it works for you. Haven't tried it with my phone but it plays just fine on a computer. Mozilla, IE and Chrome all worked.

I wish you guys could have taken the train ride up river when they still had first, second and third class tickets for sale. Each was very different. The 3rd class was unique and my favorite, especially for photography as the windows dropped down from the top, to waist height, providing lots of open air in those cars. You could also stand on the platforms between the cars. It is very different today, but also a lot faster than as recently as 1994. :scholar:
