Vesuvio no longer doing fancy boxes?

Post by Moses Botbol »

I was at a liquor store a couple of weeks ago and saw two 1994 Vesuvio foot lockers on top of wine rack. I asked the manager how much they were and said they were just displays... Oh well... Started talking to him and he said Vesuvio is no longer shipping in the foot lockers (to both our dismay). Is that true? What was the last vintage to ship in foot locker?

I could have sworn I saw the 2012 in fancy wood at a wine store some time ago.

I received a reply from Paul Symington and he stated you were given incorrect information. We can be relieved that Vesuvio is still coming in the fancy wood boxes. Woohoo :)

Good to hear. So much for Blanchard's in Allston... It would've been a shame if that were the case with Vesuvio. Then again, I may actually drink one if they were just in cardboard. Packaging is just too nice to drink a bottle.

Buy two cases. drink one and keep wood box in house so you can stare at it. Save other case. :scholar:

Fail. I keep seeing this box that some fool told me to keep me in the house which constantly reminds me I have other excellent bottles of this VP that need to be brought in and drunk!

Who cares, provided they have enough port to drink together [friends.gif]
