TN: 1996 Grand Cru La Grande Rue (Vosne Romanee)

Tasted on December 25/15, and again for 2 following days. Sorry to say, should have been tasted at least 5 or more years ago, and unfortunately I still have another bottle. The bouquet and color of the wine is good, but in the mouth, sorry to say the fruit is drying out. After 36 hours the wine was almost undrinkable. Compared to a 1996 Domaine Dominique Laurent Mazis Chambertin opened just a year earlier, this wine was not anywhere near as fresh. You win some, you lose some, especially for $185 a bottle. Would not buy this vintage again.
