Vintage 1805, Verdelho, Grand Reserve, Blandy--this wine is up for auction. Any sharable concerns about the bottling? Looks like a mid-to-late 20th century label with some cutesiy lettering.

This was the type of paper label used by the Madeira Wine Company in the late 50's-early 60's. Do you know if there's a back label as well? Oft times signed by the managing director of the MWC. I've had some wonderful wines with these types of labels.

I also have some that look similar, so probably authentic (the label at least!). Also (typically) a back label 'signed by a Director', plus the source of the wine e.g. "It was acquired by us from D. Eugenia Bianchi Henriques a partner of this firm".
Sadly, no bottling date, but the neck label on mine say 'Specially selected for Sherry Wine & Spirits, 679 Madison Ave NY' - so obviously predates the renaming to Sherry-Lehmann.

John, if you were able to procure that bottle, you should join us in Seattle and parlay it into a remarkable tasting with excellent pours. It is not too late!
