They've been talking about the 1997 for some years now. Glad to see it finally hitting the market.

Please do, Jasper. Hopefully, like most things from Crasto, it will be reasonably priced and of good quality.

Ok, yesterday i had the 1997 Crasto Colheita port, it is coming in May and the price has to be set. The Colheita has been aged in the Douro.
The Colheita is incredible rich and has a lot of flavours. I taste almonds, figs and dried fruits. The aftertaste is thick and long. I really like the balance in de acidity giving it’s nice freshness. Tasting this blindly I would say it is way older.
I also heard Quinta do Crasto is bringing a 2014 vintage port.
Kopke is not brining a 2014 vintage port.

Ditto. I've got a pic of it in barrel from 3-4 years ago...I'll try and find it and post it.Moses Botbol wrote:I'll buy some if I see it.

A picture of the barrel would be neat label/artwork for the bottle. It gives a sense of where the actual Colheita came from.Andy Velebil wrote:Ditto. I've got a pic of it in barrel from 3-4 years ago...I'll try and find it and post it.Moses Botbol wrote:I'll buy some if I see it.

Understand that the 1997 Crasto Colheita is available in UK and Germany.
Then we hope for more countries....!
During Douro Boys winemakers dinner in Oslo on 14th June I spoke with Tomas Roquette about the colheita and he confirmed previous
info that they will continue to launch more colheitas in the years to come.
Tomas was eager to underline that there should be short time from bottling to drinking.
We all know that short time from bottling makes the colheitas/tawnies more predictable, but I was a bit surprised that he underlined
(actually twice in the converastion) so strongly.

The 1997 Colheita bottle seems to be similar to their old Constantino bottles in shape. I like it.

Yes. I've got to look at my notes for exact date. But around the early 1960's they sold off the brand to what is now Sogrape.Eric Menchen wrote:Their?
