Yes. I thought it a bit atypical for a Sercial, but loved it as a drink.

40yo Barbeito Malvasia was crazy good!

Hands down the 1901 D'Oliveiras Malvasia, tasted at the IVBAM event in Philadelphia. Knee-buckling intensity.

The Sercial Morgado Pavao Claro that I picked up in a Christie's auction-- Mind-altering!!!

1911 Bual - Blandy's (old bottling - no selo strip).
Perfect now - or in another 50 years.
Exploded from the glass filling the room and perfectly balanced.
Served with a roasted chestnut soup containing foie gras on a large crouton.

1863 Barbeito Boal - Very fortunate to have had the opportunity to try this ethereal wine in 2016.

A close second: 1934 Leacock's Bual.

Mine too, along with the 1900 D'Oliveiras Malvasia and the 1875 D'Oliveiras Family Reserve Malvasia at the same tasting.

When Glenn chimes in on a Madeira thread, you know there is truly "a disturbance in the force."
