Decanted 1 hour

Cork showing seepage under the capsule, cork soaked through and somewhat mushy. One of the few even the Durand couldn't remove perfectly, though it was close.

Color is clear with a mostly ruby color, definite but appropriate bricking. 80% transparent, typical light Ferreira color.

Nose is somewhat medicinal, with a waxy element distracting from the otherwise very attractive cranberry, cherry and floral notes.

Palate is warm upfront, with a fresh cherry cough syrup beginning and middle, with a cranberry and a bit of VA. The waxy element came back at the end with some herbalness. This isn't terribly complex, but this is very pretty in the traditional Ferreira sense when you look past the iffy notes. In a better bottle, this perhaps could be seriously good and in for a nice long Ferreira plateau.
