TN: 2011 Niepoort Batuta Douro red

5 hrs decanting. Dark red colour. Pleasant complex aroma of berries, oak and minerals in a quite heavy way. Some acidity in the aroma. Full body. Powerful, «big wine», wonderfully elegant with nice harmony of fruit, oak and minerals. A bit on the dry side, but in an acceptable way. Long aftertaste. Again a 2011-Douro red showing very well, and I would guess it will develop nicely with some storage. 96 pts
