1968 Krohn Colheita

Purchased from Premier Cru in the summer of 2015. Opened after the 1st meeting of the Sammamish Port Club because we needed something more to drink.
1968 Krohn Colheita
bottled in 2008
Color: Dark brownish tawny. Kind of dull looking, which has been typical of this Port for me.
Nose: Darker woods and leather aromas. Varnish. Some very dark/ripe stewed fruit, but in a tart direction and not a plum/date direction.
Palate: Has an edge, but not quite bitter. Rich and expansive in the mouth. The edge is almost coffee but not quite. Lots of torrefacted notes, though.
Score: 94 points. May have been "pulled up" by following the S. Leonardo "60" White, because I normally have these a point or two lower, but it seemed appropriate for this bottle. These bottles don't appear to be suffering from too much time in bottle, though it's been 9 years now.
