FTLOP 12th Anniversary Party information

Invitations to the FTLOP 12th Anniversary Party are being readied to send out in the next couple of weeks. We're having to do it by invitation due to the popularity of the event, and a desire to provide a "perk" to people who support the FTLOP tours, the FTLOP forums, and past FTLOP events. We simply can't host tastings for 25+ people, which is roughly the number who we know to be interested. We're very sorry that we cannot accommodate everyone who might wish to attend, and thank you for your understanding.

Glenn, I understand the problem you have, hosting an event to which TOO many people want to come, just because the event will be so incredible! The problem is that you are TOO good at creating a great event.
Please do keep me posted.
Thanks, Don

Thanks Don, we really do appreciate the understanding.

Maybe in the future we'll need to plan one of these to be MAGNUMS ONLY so we can have twice as many people! [beg.gif]

Wasn't that what the Red Sox kept saying until 2004?

I just noticed that with 5 more posts Moses, you will hit the 5K mark. Congratulations in advance. Open something great for that post! :scholar:

'85 Porto Morgado, Hoopers, or step it up to the Croft? 4 more posts to go. This weekend could work for nice vintage.

No more selling Chardonnay, right?

Nope, you guys just missed out on something that was not just any "chardonnay". You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink [dash1.gif] . I played out on chard many years ago unless it is something spectacular driven by acidity and structure. :yumyum:

Nope, nothing...no '85 Fonseca, no '66 Fonseca, no '69 Dujac Clos Saint Denis :yumyum: :yumyum: . Drank my next to last bottle last week for my birthday and the last one is not on offer  .

Look forward to being back in Issaquah!!! [cheers.gif]

There's been a delay, which means Roy probably won't be able to get the invitations out until early May. He's still working on the arrangements as quickly as he can, but a couple of things have come up and he just doesn't have as much time as he needs.

Could we get someone to increase all days to 28 hours? Please??? [beg.gif]

Well, the data are getting longer, but 28 hours is a ways away. According to Wikipedia:
This phenomenon is due to tides raised by the Moon which slow Earth's rotation. Because of the way the second is defined, the mean length of a day is now about 86 400.002 seconds, and is increasing by about 1.7 milliseconds per century (an average over the last 2 700 years).
If we assume that rate is constant (it doesn't sound like it is), a day will be 28 hours in about 850 million years.

We did that in London earlier this year for one of our group's 40th birthday - we only had 9 bottles but they were either magnum or Tappit Hen format. It was a great way to run a tasting as we didn't have to worry about pour sizes too much.
