NV Cockburn 20 Year Old Tawny Port

Served at the 2nd meeting of the Sammamish Port club.

Cockburn 20-yr old Tawny Port
bottled 2015, 500 ml bottle

Color: Medium tawny.

Nose: Best nose of the 6 bottles - bourbon vanilla, ripe apricot, caramel. Could sit and sniff this all night.

Palate: Slightly harsh - both a bitter edge and some rough alcohol - and significantly more restrained than the nose. Once past the harsh entry there's some good tart apricot and a nice body.

Score: 89 points. I had it tied for last with the Pocas.
