I ran across 10yo and 20yo bottlings of Meneres tawny port at a store this week.

I found nothing on FTLOP and very little elsewhere.

Has anyone tried these, or know anything about them?

Thx!

Never had one. Looks like they are imported to the States by an a company in Oregon. They are made, one of four brands, from one of the Van Zeller members. How much are they is the important question?

The 20yo is $46, the 10yo is $30

Too pricey for a pure gamble. Hoping someone had tried them and could give a yeah/nay

I left the store with a pair of Taylor 2011 LBV's for $16 each.

In the quebec market , $46 for a 20yr would be a steal !!
The cheapest right now is the Cabral 20 yr at $55 [shok.gif]

I'm guessing this is coming from the group who produce Barao de Vilar, Fuerheerd, Maynard and Palmer. If it is, their tawny ports are pretty decent wines (so are their colheitas). $46 is probably a fair price to pay to try one and see what you think.

I recently opened a '76 Maynard Colheita that was pretty good and am currently working on a Maynard 40yo tawny. Still wrapping my palate around this one, tasting notes to come, but a good value.
