TN: 2010 Herdade do Mouchao Tinto Alentejo red

Consumed as part of a meat dinner at restaurant Adega Sao Nicolau, Porto, 6th May 2017.
This red wine should be decanted much longer in order to be given a fair evaluation, but that was not possible at this restaurant.

Decanted 0.5-1.0 hr during the meal. Deep, deep dark red colour. Appealing complex aroma of berries, minerals, oak and herbs in that order. Medium body. Powerful start dominated by dark red berries. Acidity is more noticeable than preferred. Quite dry towards the end. Medium length aftertaste. 90 pts.
