2015 Joh. Jos. Prüm Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese (Germany, Mosel); $56/750 ml; Dorothy Lane, Oakland; Rudi Wiest Cellars International, Carlsbad, CA; 7.5 %abv, AP 17 16; out of Coravin/refrigerator per Impitoyable; about 48 hours after first piercing at the Wacker's in German Village, Columbus, OH. Nearly water-white, but otherwise unremarkable except for absence of perceptible spritz. First impresses by leesy nose and lanolin; at this time with very pure, clean fruit but relatively dry for type and with firm acids and white-grape tannin mid-palate that springs off into a juicy, nearly gulpable finish. Has that balanced but etchy 2015 Mosel style that makes it unlikely it'll be a good mid-term drinker but will probably outlive me, forcing early consumption if at all. Sweetens a bit after it warms some, tasting of some sort of ultra-refined white peach flower honey. 94/100; somewhat difficult to prognosticate at this point.
