San Antonio Port

I am always hoping for a real gem under $10 with a screw cap; well, this was $6 and is not one. I had never heard of San Antonio winery in LA, so I had to try it. It's a step above Livingston or Fairbanks. Noticeably sweet (which is too much) with a nice alcoholic and slight tannic zing. A bit musty aftertaste. Maybe made from some table grape, like a cab or zin? It's enjoyable for $6 but very unremarkable and you should apply your money to something better. Ditto for the Madiera-nutty, raisin flavor, but somehow annoying.

Very famous here in L.A. for making as cheap a wine as possible. Sorry you had to subject your body to trying this. Avoid anything from them is my recommendation.
