Much sweeter than a Verdelho should be. I'm much more used to a drier style of Verdelho, such as the Henriques & Henriques 10-year or 15-year. More like a Bual, but not quite.

Decent palate with the sweetness balanced out by the big acidity. The wine went fairly well with the ripe cow's milk washed rind cheese, and the ripe goat's milk cheese. If you like your verdelho on the sweeter side, this wine will suit your palate. (89 pts.)

Beyond the Justino's 10 Verdelho being sweeter than a typical Verdelho, is there anything else you can share about this wine, John?

My notes show flavors of walnuts, caramel, moderate acid. It reminds me of liquid fruitcake, but without those gawd-awful candied cherries.

I don't eat that fruitcake stuff, but appreciate your descriptors. Pricing for Justino's, like many other producers of Madeira, is getting quite expensive these days.
