(bottled 2008)
This has the sweetest, fruitiest aromas of the first four wines tasted (this, 1937 Hoopers VP, and Kopke and Rocha 1937 colheitas). But swirling gives fusel alcohols. Without swirling the aromas are more pleasant, with fig, brown sugar, toffee, and a tiny bit of dulce de leche. The flavor is really concentrated—but not too much to be unpleasant. Tastes of fig syrup with orange citric acid. Excellent flavor, and my favorite of these four in that area. My pour had some sediment in it. Initially scored 93-94, then moved to 94+, and then 95? Comparing to others tasted later, I settle at 95 points.
