Tasted blind. Much better aroma potential after two stinkers, with leathery fruit, dried fruit rollup, chocolate with a little vegetal stem in there, and eucalyptus. Slight oxidized, this is tangy juicy; a little more primary then the next wine tasted, but not quite fresh enough. There was a little green pepper later. 90-91 points.

You think this will improve with time to be something more? I own a few of these and will taste it myself at a Fonseca vertical in the spring of 2018.

My first thought was, "Well, that wasn't a great showing for a Fonseca. I'm surprised. I would expect another bottle might be better." But checking the TNs, this wasn't so out of the ordinary. I think I'll try another, but perhaps this isn't such a long-lived wine.

The oxidized part sounds like a bad bottle. It shouldn't be oxidized at all.
