Noticed that there are very few tasting notes available for this vintage, and there seems to be less bottles available on the market compared with 2007 and 2011. I purchased my bottles partly December 2011 and partly February 2015. Opened the first bottle last night.

Decanted 7 hrs. Deep red colour. Aroma was an excellent mix of fruit, soil and minerals, with a tiny bit of floral tones at the end. Medium to full body. Powerful, elegant, some oak and berries. In spite of being aged for 20 months in French (85 %) and American oak barrels, the oak is subdued and nicely integrated. The wine is floating through the mouth, but still with distinct structure and “personality”. Soil and minerals are available in the background and giving a wonderful complete impression incl the good acidity/sweetness balance. Medium to long aftertaste. 95 pts
