1946 Chateau Mosse Rivesaltes Vin Doux Naturel, bottled in 2014, 17% ABV, 750 ml, $132
The back label describes it as "sweet natural amber wine". Other than the alcohol content, it reminded me of some of the colheita madeiras with shorter aging times.
This was a birth year wine.

Balanced sweetness. Lacks complexity. The lower alcohol level made it easier to drink more. I think it is a good choice for a fortified wine in the summer. I'm glad that I have two more bottles. I have not tried any other Rivesaltes.

I've tried a few and have a bunch in my cellar from many different decades. I enjoy them upon occasion and they are a fun diversion from my regular drinks. But in general I find they are in that middle ground between oxidized and not that can be tough to straddle triumphantly.
