Decanted 6.5 hrs. Deep dark red colour. Fresh aroma dominated by berries with a hint of some bitterness/herbs, later defined to be of a “pepperish” style. Touch of flowers/perfume in the aroma. Full body. Powerful with plenty berries, however with a bitter background. Relatively smooth. Tannins are well integrated. Medium to long aftertaste. If you do not mind the “pepperish” background then this vintage port would have been 4 pts higher. 88 pts.

Wow...:-(
I've had the 2005 a couple of times which I loved a lot. Hoped the 2003 would be even better ...

I too have had this a number of times in the past and think it's one of the best Crofts in a long time.

It is at that age where it could be closed up and not showing so well right now????

I just bought 2 of them and stashed them away.

Will look forward to tasting it myself down the line.
