I Did Pull the Trigger

I have been home in Edmonton for a couple of weeks now after having been away all summer in a place which is a barren wasteland for wine and port. Today, on my way home from a pot luck and the burning of Guy Fawkes I pulled into a wine store and to my surprise found a few bottles of vintage port on sale. There were three houses, Fonseca, Ramos Pinto, and Ferreira. Though we are on a tight budget these days my better half's love of port help sway us towards picking up all three.
- 1997 Ferreira VP: C$38 (US$30)
- 1991 Ramos Pinto: C$36 (US$28)
- 1988 Fonseca Guimaraens: C$47 (US$37)
I've never tasted these ports but at these prices, it was buy now, ask later. So I pulled the trigger. I don't know how these ports were stored but the labels are clean, and I cannot imagine they would be any cheaper in the US where you guys often get incredibly good deals.
Have anybody here on the forum had any of these ports?
Cheers ..................... Mahmoud.
