First tasting note of this colheita from 2012-bottling was done late 2012. Since then I have had many of this colheita from the same bottling. They have been steady around 95-96 pts. This is the last of the 2012-bottling, and the next will be from the 2013-bottling.
Bottled 2012. Decanted 3.5 hrs (which was for this bottle probably too much). After decanting very dark brown colour. Deep complex aroma of which oak and citrus were dominating factors. Full body. Powerful, elegant, citrus is clearly there, but with a touch of bitterness. Later on, the minerals and oak are more dominating. The structure and the acidity/sweetness balance are as usual very good. However, this bottle was not up to the previous steady level of 95-96 pts level. Maybe the decanting time was too long? BUT, it was still a very nice colheita port. 93 pts.
