NV Butler Nephew 10 years old white port

Post by Rune EG »

Owned by Christie’s Port Wine Producer & Shipper, Ldª.” http://www.christiewines.com. They have a wine cellar and show room in Gaia, close to the Ramos Pinto yellow building.
Bottled 2017. Decanted 1 hour. Golden transparent amber colour. Aroma subdued, but noted wood, peach and preserved fruit. Medium to full body. Quite powerful to be a white port, and also elegant. Although to some degree rich, it is not as sweet as many other 10 years old whites. Hints of bitterness towards the end. It is a well-structured white port, which is also having a nice balance acidity/sweetness. Medium length aftertaste. 90 pts.
