1986 Churchill Crusted Port

  • NV Churchill/Graham Porto Crusted - Portugal, Douro, Porto (12/31/2017)
    Opened to slow ox for 4 hours and then decanted 4 hours prior to service. This was a much better bottle than the first, which was a leaker.

    Light red in color. There was no alcohol heat to speak of. Medium sweetness, with flavors of cherries, fig, a bit of strawberry, and chocolate. Holding up amazingly well for what is basically an unfiltered LBV. A really good pairing with chocolate cake topped with Luxardo cherries. (86 pts.)
