1955 Niepoort Vintage Port

Post by Eric Menchen »

Tasted blind in a flight of seven 1955 VPs. The aroma shows a light mustiness, followed by tangy berry. In the mouth, incredibly tangy fruit, and yummy berry flavors. This tastes like a 1970 or younger VP. There is even a hint of tannins. But so much juice, with flavors of cherry, sweet concentrated fig, and later some raisin. I just kept enjoying this until the glass was empty. 95+ points. My favorite of the flight.
