1978 Kopke Colheita port

Bottled 2016. Decanted 2 hrs (would probably benefit from longer decanting). Medium to dark brown colour. Aroma of citrus, dust/oak, minerals and a touch of alcohol. Full body. Powerful and quite elegant at start, then impression of a dusty cellar. Plenty citrus in the taste, and also some nuts. Not so sweet. Hints of bitterness at the end. A bit sharp in style. In spite of the latter comments it was overall a nice 38-year-old Colheita. Medium to long aftertaste. 92 pts.
