50% opaque garnet color. Muted nose of chocolate and plum. This wine comes off as feminine with delicate grape, rhubarb and prune--but with a lack of grape skin. Thinner than most. Smooth and balanced.

Just had a second bottle of this over the weekend; wanted to try as in the tasting it did well. Similar impression. Shocked by how much sediment in bottle, not that it matters. Slight fade on rim. I've had issues with the Churchill brand in the past--just doesn't match my palate. But this LBV is quite acceptable and enjoyable. Priced around $24 plus tax around here so not a great QPR either.

For personal reasons 1/3rd of this bottle was left until yesterday. For being opened 8 days, albeit the last 6 with a t-stopper, I was expecting a flat, uninteresting wine. Surprise!...It is a bit one note, but quite lovely with a cooked cherry/plum tone. Rounded edges.

I've found I can often get a week out of a LBV. I suspect very young VPs will last longer than the general two day rule, but I've not really been able to test that theory.
