2011 Dows LBV

Post by John M. »

Rich magenta color. The wine smells earthy with a musty mineral quality, no fruit. Extremely muted flavors of pepper overlaid a light strawberry rhubarb combo. Moderate weight and short finish. (Wonder if this bottle was flawed)

I've struggled with this LBV over the years. By far the weakest Symington LBV brand they have, IMO. Which is in stark contrast to Dow's VP which I love. Your note seems pretty similar to ones I've had, so I don't think it was flawed.

John, did the Dow's LBV have a bottling date?
