Have had many of these in various bottlings, and it is now time to write a proper tasting note. It seems bottling 2016 is a tiny bit better (one point) than 2014 and 2015.

Bottled 2016. Decanted 2 hrs. Medium to dark brown colour, but still the colour is transparent. A very pleasant appealing aroma of citrus, oak and minerals (latter a bit subdued). Quite heavy aroma actually. Full body. Powerful and elegant in a wonderful combination. Well-structured and also well-balanced acidity/sweetness. The citrus is there in a fully integrated way throughout the whole consumption period, and without increasing in acidity. Hints of honey in the background. Long elegant aftertaste. 95 pts.

I like the 30 year old category and there is no shortage of excellent bottlings in this category, but likely the S. Leonardo and DR are my two favorites.

Anther handful of top tier 30's that come to mind: Niepoort, Sandeman, Ramos Pinto, Taylor's and Krohn.

Roy, I noted that you mentioned Taylor's 30 yrs tawny as part of the top tier.
Is that from the period after Taylor's purchased Krohn, i.e. that the newer bottlings of Taylor's includes some Krohn?
