Prank in a winery/lodge

On a lighter note, share with us something you did, or something you'd find funny if it happened.

I got this idea last night... Not too long ago, I visited a Port lodge, as a tourist for curiosity, I'll not reveal the name, but during the tour the guide look at our group and said ''This pipa is containing the oldest Port of our company. 1948. We are waiting a special moment to release it as a colheita. We'll only release it in rich markets like Asia, Middle East or Russia. So if you want you can take a picture because you won't have the chance to buy it, it will be too expensive''

I kid not, a few words could have been different, but the essence of the message is there.

Now my prank!

I'd go back for another visit, but with a pipette and a glass of wine. As the group moves forward the next location I'd casually stay in the back and extract a few onzes from that barrel. Then coming back with the group I'd ask the guide if she wants to share something nice and expensive with everyone and say ''It's nice, thanks for letting us tasting it, we just saved a few dozens dollars right? no wine Worth more than 20$..30? ok maybe 50?'' :winebath: [rotfl.gif]

Middle East is the first place I think of if I wanted to target expensive port wine sales.

Not that funny, but as a kid visiting wineries in California, got to climb all over the barrel racks. Was also offered wine while underage. Those were different times.

Who is to say what is underage?

Babies used to be given 'gripe water' that usually had around the same alcohol content as beer. As a child, I was frequently allowed beer in moderation (usually pale ale) and wine (also in moderation) at formal dinner parties. My first experience of over-indulging was on Champagne at my uncle's wedding, when I was seven years old. By the time I was twelve I was brewing and drinking my own beer with the full knowledge of my parents.

- It doesn't seem to have done me any harm!

Me neither! But nowadays, if a commercial winery was found to do so, they'd certainly loose their license.

my parents drink very rarely. when i was a kid we'd have wine a few times a summer when my dad grilled steak, like two or three times. i thought my mom's crystal had matching child-sized wine glasses. when my parents had wine they served my brother and me in what i now realise are cordial glasses, they are identical in shape and crystal pattern to the wine glasses.
