This is the third time tasting this, from a 6 bottle lot.
The past two times, including at the Sensational Sercial Tasting in NYC, this was very lean and acidic. Too much for most people and extreme even for me, a card carrying member of the acid head club.
This bottle is not so extreme. Wonderful aromatics of citrus, toffee, caramel. Lean on the palate and acidic, but not as severe as I remember. Very good length. I actually enjoy this. This bottle had much more ullage than the others. Wondering if increased oxygen contact has helped. At the Sensational Sercial tasting, the wines were open for a week. I added a drop of high quality Malvasia to a glass to see if it would soften the extreme acidity. It did, but I actually enjoyed the unaltered wine more than the blend.
I think I'll leave the wine in a glass carafe for several weeks/months to see how it goes.
Right now 90 points.
