Christie’s auctioned a single bottle of JCA & C Terrantez 1715 Madeira yesterday. The estimate was £3,500-5,000. The bottle hammered down for a very impressive £16,000. (And it wasn’t me that bought it!)

I believe the price was even higher at Christies NYC a couple of years ago.
