Pop and pour. Initial aroma of alcohol with menthol suggests the aguardente is not yet well integrated. But there are also fruit aromas as well. Tastes of berries, raspberries and blackberries, and maybe even something like boysenberry; along with definite cocoa and maybe chocolate. Tannins are definitely present, but surprisingly approachable for such a young wine. Nice depth of flavor for a young wine too. This seems like it can easily be consumed young, but will probably go a reasonably distance as well. Tasted ten hours later in a small glass that wasn't friendly to swirling, I didn't notice the alcohol aroma. But the tannins seemed a little more puckery than before, along with some grape stem character, but still not overwhelming. Strawberry and citrus flavors show up now too, along with black cherry. While the heat is now gone on the aroma, I feel it in the finish, which was medium length at best. 92-93+ points, but lots of potential here.
