Bottled 2017. Decanted 2 hrs which is maximum. Medium brown colour. Distinct aroma of citrus and oak. Full body. Powerful and elegant. Taste is dominated by citrus and oak. Also detecting herbs. Acidity is slightly on the high side, but OK. Alcohol is showing towards the end. 93 pts.

About 2 or 3 years ago some people were raving over this bottle at a tasting I was at. I tried it and thought it was nice but not up to the level of many top-tier 40 year tawny's, nor the rave reviews people were giving it. My score would have been in the 91-92 range, so close to yours, but generally a few points off the top end ones.

We tasted this on PHT2 this year, and while I don't remember my score off the top of my head, I do remember that it wasn't my favorite 40 year old of the trip. As I recall I ranked both Brunheda and S. Leonardo ahead of it.
If I had to guess, my score was probably similar to Rune's. I might have been a point higher, but I doubt I'd have gone higher than that.
