Beautiful color and clarity, amber-red, with a surprising amount of red in the hue for a 30 year old tawny. The aroma is caramel sweet, with cherry, and alcohol spirit. It tastes like it looks, younger than a typical 30 year old, but still quite nice. There are flavors of sweet caramel, red candied fruit, and light creme. The aroma is now revealing more sugar complexity, with brown sugar, cinnamon, caramel, praline, and taffy. Even after sitting in the glass for a while it still seems a bit spirited. 95 points. (That score seems high in retrospect, but that's what I gave it at the time. I'm not going to further argue with myself.)
