New IVDP President: Gilberto Igrejas

Post by Christian Gollnick »

Some of us will have had the pleasure to met Manual Cabral over the last years, who was the president of the Port Wine Institute for the last 7 years.
His reign has now come to an end - and it was announced a few days ago that the new president for the coming 5 years is Gilberto Igrejas.

I think it is absolutely amazing that these two have completely different backgrounds. While Manuel Cabral was all his life working in administrative positions and can really be considered a career politician, Gilberto Igrejas comes from a totally different angle and is a scientist with vast expertise in Genetics and Biotechnology.

Here is his CV: http://www.bioscopegroup.org/index.php/people?id=56

I wish him good luck and I am very jealous, as this one is on the list of my 25 dream-jobs...
