Our friend and ally, Alex Bridgeman took over the Big Fortified Tasting in time for the 2018 version, after the previous organizer unfortunately passed away in 2016, so the event did not happen in 2017.

Before the 2019 sessions begin, here is an interview that was done by the Canadian "Port to Port" newsletter. The link takes you directly to Alex's insights. We wish Alex and his friends from England and Portugal that help him to execute this remarkable event, all the success needed to make this another phenomenal showing of the great fortified wines of Portugal and beyond!

Thanks Roy - it's all quite frantic at the moment trying to get all the loose ends tied up.

I can only imagine, Alex. But knowing you, I am sure the entire event will be organized, fun filled and any chaotic minutia, will remain unseen by the participants. I am sure it will be great and better than ever. Have a wonderful time and enjoy every moment! [cheers.gif]

Just for grins, what is the entry fee for one or all days of the BFT?

Nothing - it's primarily a trade event.

Everything went extremely smoothly this year. A pity though that the Symingtons didn't put out any 17s - this is an ideal occasion to debut their new offerings..
