1987 Feist Vintage Port

Post by John M. »

I was not expecting much, TNs on Feist VPs have been under 90 consistently and this bottle was in a store for a long time stood on end; still $40 seemed worth the risk for a 32 year old VP. Decant showed a huge amount of fine sediment. Garnet red, darker than expected and nice aromas. Moderate nose of rose and strawberry. A small initial sip gave me hope---nicely aged, pleasing but a touch of heat. By the time consumed 10 hours later the heat had mellowed out. Light plum and faded red berry with a gentle finish and a lingering a touch of sweet (friend said honey). Not a lot of complexity but very pleasing. Good spot to drink now through the next decade.
