SEATTLE PORT TASTING EVENT THURS. 11/15

Post by Roy Hersh »

As you already know there is a great Port & Portuguese wine tasting this coming Thursday, downtown at the Sheraton. It would be great to meet any FTLOP folks who would like to come and drink some great wine/Port together and maybe even go for a bite to eat when it is all over.

Please let me know if you will plan to be there and we can arrange a time to meet.

Tasting on Thursday

I'm going to pop in there at some point in the afternoon. I'll give you a ring when I get there.

A ring? I'll be walkin' around in my FTLOP shirt, and I don't think it is going to be too crowded until after 5:00. See you manana! At least I will know one person.

Kris,

When did you hear that. If not in the past 24 hours, I believe it is mis-information.

There had been a "bureaucratic" dog pile tossed in the way, but that was solved. But if you've heard this news more recently than mine ... please do let us know!

Thanks

Hi Roy,

The message I received from Charla was on 11/14 at 12:32pm. I will follow up tomorrow morning to find out the details.

I just got off the phone with the event organizer and it is still on. There is more stuff going on behind the scenes with the WA State Liquor Control Board and the fact that there was a donation to a charity, but the event itself is still taking place from what I was told five minutes ago.

I also called the hotel and they also said "yes" the Portugal wine tasting is still on!

Well after all that worrying it turned out to be a great day into night. I was feeling bad for the organizers and producers as with all the controversy in Seattle, maybe 50 people showed up during the four hour event. OTOH, it sure made it easy to approach the tables, get great pours and actually speak to the folks about the wines.
