1969 Graham’s Single Harvest port

Post by Rune EG »

Not too many of these around. This was one of the first vintages being sent on the market as “Single Harvest”, early in the long range of Graham’s Single Harvest ports. Apparently, part of the volume of this 1969 was labelled Graham’s Colheita port. I purchased the bottle at Oslo airport May 2014. Not too many of these around. Acc. to Wine Searcher it seems to be available at abt EUR 430.

Bottled 2013 (44 years at bottling). Decanted 2 hrs, which was OK. Deep dark brown. Aroma of oak, nuts, dust and indications of spirit. Full body. Powerful taste, quite elegant, smoked wood, nuts, citrus and hint of herbs. “Polished” tannins. In style it is more dry than sweet. Very long aftertaste. 94 pts.
