1977 Graham VP

Post by Eric Menchen »

The color is slightly darker than the previously tasted wines, 1963 and 1970 VPs, as is to be expected. The aroma is fruity with grape, raspberry, peach, and cherry, along with grape stem and bay leaf. This has a really nice classic integration of aromas. The flavor is quite nice as well, although not as deep and complex as I would like, and there is some warmth in the finish. A large sip was good, but showed a tiny off flavor. 91-92 points? No, just 91. I preferred the 1970 Ferreira slightly more. (10 Jan 20)
