1980 Dow VP

Post by Eric Menchen »

This is also dark in color, but not quite as dark as the 1980 Gould Campbell. It may be corked. The aroma has lighter fruit than the GC, but features peach and concentrated watermelon like a Jolly Rancher candy. Still seems to have an off aroma, but the flavor is nice, juicy, and fruity. It is dry and wine-like, typical Dow's style. The aroma makes this my least favorite of the three 1980s bottles, and I still think it is very lightly corked. 93 points. (10 Jan 20)
